Mrs. Alice Faye Kuhlman, 76, of Jones, Oklahoma went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13th, 2021. She passed peacefully, in her home she shared with her husband and best friend of 62 years, Buddy.
Born on the 9th of December in 1944 in Okemah, Oklahoma Alice (Cornell) was the daughter of Ervin and Claudie. Alice was the 4th born of 5 children. She is preceded in death by her sisters Betty, Eula and Reathea. Howard, her baby brother is still living.
Growing up in rural Oklahoma, Alice learned from a young age that the most valuable things in life don’t cost a cent. She often regaled her children and grandchildren with stories of hard work and chores but made it sound like the most fun you could have. From snapping peas to canning to baking, working alongside her doing just about anything was a treasured memory for the family she leaves behind.
Perhaps one of the most awe-inspiring legacies Alice leaves behind is the love story she shared with Buddy. Having been together since they were just children themselves, Buddy, her self-proclaimed protector was just that, her protector for her entire life. To see them together was to truly witness a love that stood the test of time all the while expanding into one very large and very loving family.
Alice is survived by her children Cindy,Buddy Jr., Laura, and Greg as well as 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Alice is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amanda.
Alice was the type of woman who would do anything for her family. Whether it was cooking breakfast for everyone on a lake trip or keeping up with all her grandchildren’s various activities her greatest joy was in witnessing the family she loved so much live their lives. Grandma always knew that happiness was to be found in the small details of life, the everyday occurrences that make us laugh and grow closer to one another. As her family moves forward in this life, we will honor her memory by living and loving just as she did.
