Connie Jean Clark, age 72, from Guthrie, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord on March 13, 2019, at 12:55 a.m., after a long illness.  She was surrounded by her family.

Connie was born on November 17, 1946, in Texas City, Texas to Jeff and Mary (Nunneley) Carper.  Connie graduated from high school in 1965 from Wayside High School. She worked at the Dana Corporation in Independence Kansas until she retired.

Connie enjoyed going to tractor pulls and really enjoyed her birthdays.  Every birthday was a celebration. One year at the Dana Corporation, she mentioned she wanted a chocolate pie for her birthday and received 17 chocolate pies from her co-workers.

Connie is survived by her son, Ronnie Lee Clark and his wife Deborah, and their son, Brian Lee Louis, from Guthrie Oklahoma. She is also survived by another son and daughter.  Connie is survived by 6 grandchildren, two of whom she practically raised as her own children, Alissa Marie Campbell and her two sons, Finn and Riley, from Luther, Oklahoma and William Aaron Sales and his wife, Ashlie Lauren and their two sons, Lakin and Baylor, from Luther, Oklahoma.  Connie is also survived by her grandchildren, James White, his son, Kye and his daughter, Sierra, from Guthrie, Oklahoma, Jessica Sanderson and her husband, Justin, and their two daughters, Nicci and Loghan, from Oklahoma City, Donnal Brown and his wife, Stacy and their daughters, Sheyene, Emma and Pyper, from Oklahoma City.  Connie is also survived by three sisters, Jackie Gerhardt from Texas City, Texas, Mary Lee Edens from Texas City, Texas and Georgia “Pete” Bronnenberg from Noblesville, IN.  Connie was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Connie is predeceased by her parents, Jeff Carper and Mary (Nunneley) Carper.

Connie had a deep, abiding love for her family, especially when it came to children. There was never a shortage of laughter when she was surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was known as “Gigi” by all of her grandchildren and great-children, and you could find them just hanging out in her room with her.  The world would be a much better place if every family had a Gigi.
One of Connie’s greatest joys was sitting in her rocking chair on the front porch watching her “girls” play. The girls were, of course, the dogs. Bailey Baby was her favorite. If there is such a thing as having a fur baby soul mate, Bailey Baby would have been Connie’s.  Knowing that Connie and Bailey Baby are reunited brings joy to all of us.

Connie believed in angels. She believed there were angels all around us. Her belief in angels was so deep that her family, friends and loved ones gave her gifts of angels so often that she was surrounded by them every day. Now, our family is blessed with our own angel looking down on us.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand.

Honorary pallbearers: Ronnie Clark, Brian Clark, William Sales, James White, Kye White, Justin Sanderson, Jared Williams, Jeremy Birl Ring
