John DeWayne Wilson was born April 23, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jewel C. and Helen (Glenn) Wilson. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Arcadia, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years.
On March 5, 1955, John married the love of his life, Deloris “June” Estes. John is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, a brother, Robert Wilson, three sisters, Loretta Berg, Sandra Wilson, and Jeraldine Wilson all of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. John is survived by two children, son, John Wilson Jr. of Albuquerque, NM and daughter, Debra Risner of Oklahoma City, OK, one sister, Juanita Evans and one sister in law Donna Wilson of Sapulpa, OK, one daughter in love, Clara Hayes and his very best friend and pastor, Roy Hayes. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a church family that cherished him dearly. At 18 years old John enlisted in the United States Army National Guard where he served from June, 1953 to August, 1956 and received an honorable discharge. Then in 1957 John enlisted in the United States Air Force and served 20 years until his retirement in 1977. One of John’s biggest delights was attending bible study every Thursday at the home of his very precious friend, Iris Green and of course attending church at Successful Word Church Where he served as an elder. John will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Successful word Church pavilion. Burial will follow at the Rossville Cemetery.
