Mary Francis (Ham) Goggin came into this world as the second child of Henry Curtis and Lula Mae (Greenfield) Ham on February 16, 1941 in Chandler, Oklahoma. She had one older brother, Gene, and two younger sisters, Susie and Pamela. Mary went home to be with the Lord on October 22, 2020 in Oklahoma City. She was met by Gene, her loving husband of 36 years.
Mary graduated from Chandler High School in 1959. She met Gene while he was on leave from the U.S. Army. They married February 10, 1961. The two were then blessed with three daughters, Diana, Deena, and Barbara. Mary was a homemaker for many years while her daughters were young and in school. A few years later, Mary started working as a custodian at Wellston Schools where she later retired. Mary’s grandchildren called her Nanny, and it wasn’t long before many of their friends called her Nanny too. She will always be remembered as our Nanny. She enjoyed spending time with and watching her kids and grandkids play sports, especially basketball. Nanny loved her dogs very much. She had Penny for many years and then Sweet Pea. She considered them her babies, and they were very special to her. Nanny also enjoyed crocheting blankets and potholders. She had a strong love for babies and small children. They brought her much joy. About ten years ago, Mary started showing signs of Alzheimer’s. Over the years, the disease progressed. It took her away from her family and friends. It was heartbreaking to watch our mother and nanny slip away. However, we knew she still loved us as much as we loved her. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene, one sister, Pamela Telford, granddaughters Lindsay Bailey Pittman and Presley Walker, nieces Taylor Telford, Cindy Miller, and LaTeresa Coleman, and nephew Tyler Telford. Left to honor and remember Mary are her three daughters: Diana Breitshuh, Deena Bailey, Barbara (Jimmy) Walker all of Wellston, OK; 10 grandchildren: Mandy, Timmy, Jeremiah, Jessica, Janet, James, Julie, Chris, Amanda, and Sarah; 14 great-grandchildren: Lance, Logan, Brooke, Jaxon, Lucas, Cooper, Case, Leo, Enzo, Chesney, Zachery, Brynna, Paisley, and Payden; as well as many other family and friends. |
